In addition, you can rest assured we are providing you and your child a safe and friendly environment for their journey to self-improvement through the martial arts.

MISSION

  • To provide the finest instruction in the mental, physical and character building aspects of the martial arts. To educate and empower adults and children with the knowledge that fosters a positive and healthy lifestyle. To this end we continue to diligently research and push ourselves so that we may further refine and improve our programs.
  • To provide personal instruction in every class. Each student will be provided the skills to become a community contributor, a complex thinker, a collaborative worker, a life-long learner, an effective communicator, and a quality producer.
  • To provide the best professional martial arts training facility for residents of Kadena AB, Camp Foster, Camp Shields, and neighboring communities.
  • To create an environment that gives each individual the opportunity to pursue and archive a greater level of success.
Anyone can be a martial artist.

It is our policy to bring out the best in all of our students and it is our belief that anyone can learn the martial arts. Each student comes to the martial arts with certain talents and certain limitations. It is our job to take advantage of the talents and help the student to learn to overcome their limitations.

Stay focused and remember…

We suggest you attend class at least twice a week; this is a part of developing responsibility. Kuk Sool Won of Kadena is a "Black Belt" school. Our goal for every student is to help him or her, earn their Black Belt, not only in Martial Arts, but also in life. By working towards this goal, we create an environment in which the student develops confidence through accomplishing high, but realistic and attainable goals.

Any T-shirt or leotard worn under the jacket should be black. Your Do-Bok jacket should be worn left over right. Do not wear jewelry to class. Jewelry can cause injury to you and your classmates and you may damage or break your jewelry.

Why a Copyright and a Trademark?
Most martial arts names are not trademarks. That is, names like “karate”, “kung fu”, “tae kwon do” and the like can be used freely as descriptions of almost any martial arts business without risk of infringement. They do not need to be affiliate with an organization which teaches and maintains a level of quality over them nor do they have to actually teach “karate” even though they use a sign saying so.
Kuk Sool Won™ is a registered trademark owned by the World Kuk Sool Association®, WKSA®. The words “Kuk Sool Won” and its logo can only be used through a license granted by the WKSA®. A license can only be granted to a person after he or she has earned a black belt in Kuk Sool Won™ and has gained the recommendation of a professional instructor and school owner. Having a license means that the licensee will adhere the Kuk Sool Won™ curriculum and maintain to the high standards dictated by the WKSA®. This instructor is expected to continue his training regardless of rank and maintain a high standard which are checked periodically.
What this means is that the words “Kuk Sool Won” indicate a school which maintains a high standard of quality. It also means that standardized curriculum helps to remove the somewhat subjective approach to teaching and advancement.
Everyone Has a Teacher

In Kuk Sool Won™ everyone has a teacher. A good instructor is constantly striving to improve himself. Each student takes lessons from his instructor. Each instructor takes lessons from his master. Each master takes instruction from the Grand Master. All of them adhere to the Quality Assurance Program of the World Kuk Sool Association®. It is said that even the Grand Master himself continues his own studies in the martial arts.

Kuk Sool Won™ is Affordable to All

We, here at Kuk Sool Won™ of Kadena, strive to focus our attention on teaching and practicing Kuk Sool Won™. We do not want to be overly distracted by the essentials of doing business. For this reason, we charge each student a monthly fee understanding that due to military mission requirements, families/ students might receive orders to go TDY or receive a permanent change of station.

The school uniforms which are required before your first belt test can be purchased through our website or the official Kuk Sool Won™ website. Fees for testing, seminars given by visiting masters and the Grand Master are handled directly by our school program director. Students must purchase their own equipment when necessary but in many cases equipment can be borrowed from what is maintained in the school until you're able to get your own.
